Tally beta privacy notice

This notice describes the Tally: Money Clarity private beta as it works today. It is factual product information, not a claim that this beta privacy notice has been attorney-reviewed.

What Tally stores

Tally keeps separate categories of product data, including saved financial planning records, Paycheck Split data, Money Move records and checks, conversation history, explicit Tally Memory, and preferences such as appearance and AI-processing authorization.

Local storage and recovery

Supported Tally product data currently lives locally on your device. Tally does not currently provide normal account-based cross-device sync and does not promise automatic recovery when you change devices or reinstall the app. Account-owned synchronization is roadmap direction, not a current beta capability. Device or platform backups may behave according to their own settings and are not a Tally sync promise.

AI-supported requests

Tally uses AI only for requests where AI adds value. Supported facts and calculations may remain local. When AI is used, Tally sends only context relevant to that request under its data-minimization design—not complete conversation history or every saved financial record by default. User-visible AI processing follows Tally’s consent and authorization controls.

Conversations and Tally Memory

Conversation transcripts and Tally Memory are separate. Tally Memory is explicit-only in this beta: Tally carries something forward only when you intentionally ask it to remember. Deleting a conversation does not automatically delete an explicit memory item, and deleting memory does not change saved financial records.

Talk is read-only

Talk to Tally is currently read-only with respect to saved financial records. It can discuss hypothetical money moves, but it does not automatically change your saved plans.

Connected-bank status

Plaid and connected-bank functionality are not implemented in this beta. Optional connected-bank features are planned for a later milestone and will require separate disclosure and consent before release.

Tally is an early private beta. Features and data practices may evolve. Material privacy changes will be reflected in updated product disclosures before those features are used.
